Large Hadron Collider (LHC)
20th September, 2008 - On Friday (19.09.08), a failure, known as a quench, caused around 100 of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC's) super-cooled magnets to heat up by as much as 100 degrees. A tonne of liquid helium leaked into the tunnel at CERN, near Geneva. Safety doesn't only involve the theory behind the technology, but the mechanics of its operation.

There is much talk about Earth being constantly bombarded by tiny black holes, but black holes and dark energy are only theoretical concepts. An animation presents a very graphic illustration. The creation of energies of such potential endangers humanity and its very existence. To state it is safe is similar in principle to stating that GM is safe.
Dark Phenomena
Human life is placed under enormous risk to 'prove' an academic point with absolutely no justification. If such a particle exists, where does that take Man's future? Sending a man into space is all very interesting (and hugely expensive), but for what? What will ever be achieved?
Nothing
A simple demonstration of the arrogance of only a few individuals. The 'certain' knowledge of proving... what? If nothing happens, what will be shown by this failure to demonstrate anything. If something does happen then...
Playing 'god' involves the creation of existence, but this is in the opposite direction. To potentially destroy that existence.
